The Gold Nugget is one of the more common specialty plecos in the trade. They are sold under several names (Gold Dust, Gold Seam) although theses are different plecos. The Gold Dust has smaller dots than the Gold Nugget and the Gold Seam has a stronger band on its dorsal fin and tail. Temperatures should be between 77-86F°F and pH between 6.5 and 7.5. Water quality and diet are paramount to keep this fish. They should always be tanked with driftwood as it serves two purposes. They are peaceful but can get testy with other bottom-dwellers. |
